Editorial Policy

This page describes how Glimmer sources, reviews and corrects its content, and how we manage conflicts of interest.

Last updated: 7 September 2026

1. Our Sourcing Standards

Glimmer's contributors are expected to base factual claims on peer-reviewed research, recognized clinical guidelines, or direct professional experience disclosed as such. Where a claim rests on preliminary or contested research, we say so explicitly rather than presenting it with unwarranted certainty. Where possible, we link directly to primary sources rather than secondary summaries.

2. Review Process

Every article passes through at least two reviews before publication: a factual and sourcing review by our Editorial Director or a qualified contributor in the relevant discipline, and a clarity review to confirm the piece is understandable to a general reader without a scientific background. Articles touching on clinical topics are reviewed by our contributing dietitian or physiotherapist as appropriate to the subject matter.

3. Corrections Policy

When an error is identified after publication — whether through reader feedback, internal review, or updated research — we correct it as soon as practicable. Substantive corrections are noted within the article with an updated "dateModified" reference and, where relevant, a brief note explaining what changed. Minor corrections, such as fixing a typo, are made without a formal note.

4. Conflicts of Interest

Glimmer does not accept payment, free products, or other consideration in exchange for favorable coverage of any product, service, or organization. Contributors are asked to disclose any financial or professional relationship that could reasonably be seen as influencing their writing on a given topic, and such disclosures are published alongside the relevant article when applicable.

5. Independence From Advertising

Our advertising operations, described in our advertising disclosure, are kept separate from editorial decision-making. Advertisers have no influence over which topics we cover, how we cover them, or our conclusions.

6. Use of Research Summarization Tools

Our contributors may use research databases and reference-management tools to locate and organize sources during drafting. All claims and summaries in published articles are reviewed and approved by a named human contributor before publication; no article is published without human editorial review.

7. Republishing and Syndication

Requests to republish or syndicate Glimmer content should be directed to our editorial team via the contact form. See our terms of service for the governing intellectual property terms.

8. Feedback and Contact

We welcome reader feedback on our sourcing or framing. Use our contact form and select "Report a Correction" or "General Question" as appropriate.
